Brainstorming for nominations

Nominations for fandoms will open May 24 and run until June 2!

You can use this post to promote your small fandoms (the more people who nominate/offer/request, the more likely you are to have fic to read or write!), and to organize nominations for fandoms with multiple continuities.

For a refresher, here's the deal on nominations:

  • You can nominate up to eight fandoms
  • We'll be using the top 100 or so fandoms for sign-ups
  • Sign-ups require a minimum of four fandoms that can be crossed with each other in each individual request (up to five allowed per sign-up).

We'll post detailed instructions for doing nominations on AO3 when the nominations period begins.

Magical Girl Fandoms

Are there any magical girl fans here that would be interested in any specific fandoms? I know most the big ones except for Cardcaptor Sakura and Nanoha.

The only ones I pretty much know are Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. Have not watched PMMM or more of the recent stuff.

Alias, Misfits, The Magicians (Lev Grossman), Narnia, Lost and "PG Wodehouse - Works"

Below is more of a question/heads-up and a feeling-out than anything else:

I love Jeeves & Wooster, but there are already a bunch of crossovers for them in existence. However, I have never seen a Psmith crossover. My heart craves it like nothing else. PSMITH! I want to nominate "Wodehouse - Works" because I highly doubt that "Psmith" would get enough votes. However, I know there are lots of Jeeves&Wooster fans. If it gets close to the line and "Wodehouse - Works" doesn't make it in, can the mods please count all of those nominations towards "Jeeves&Wooster" so that at least that part of Wodehouse canon gets in? Since "Wodehouse - Works" is a meta-tag, anyone who nominates it is automatically also nominating Jeeves&Wooster. Hope this makes sense!

Another question to the mods: I only watch the TV show of Game of Thrones. Will there be separate fandoms for the books and the TV show? I would be afraid to be matched to someone who wants book stuff, not only because I would be unable to write them the fic of their dreams, but also because I don't want to be spoiled by their potentially spoilery prompts.

I'm so glad you are doing this (so I don't have to). :)

I'm good with Sailor Moon. Is Sailor Moon - All Media Types alright or you? We could get the most possible nominations for it that way.

Sounds good. I love all versions of SM: anime, manga, PGSM, the new one that's coming out soon. <3

Awesome!

I hope if Cardcaptor Sakura is one you want in that you find people also willing to nominate it. If it is one I'd seen I'd also nominate it, but with only eight nominations and a total of 100 fandoms I'm not comfortable nominating something I haven't seen/read.

I don't think it would get enough nominations to make it in, but I was thinking of nominating Ame-Comi Girls. I only have limited knowledge of DC so far and I'd be worried about doing a blank DC comics nomination.
masu_trout: Delicious. ((DR) Maizono & Leon *Game Time*)

I'd really like to nominate:

Pokemon- Pokemon crossovers are the best, there's so much you can do with them.

Final Fantasy VII- it's a big fandom with a large, engaging cast and lots of fun worldbuilding, and Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts mean crossovers already sort of a thing with it. Imagine the cast being flung into another world, or some other canon's cast trying to survive in Midgar.

Silent Hill- There's lots of Silent Hill AUs, but very few Silent Hill crossovers. It's a real shame, because the characters are such a big part of the series' charm.

Kingdom Hearts- I mean, come on. It's pretty much the crossover fandom, and yet there aren't all that many crossover fics for it. You can do so, so much with a KH crossover just by the nature of the thing.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica- Tragic magical girls with lots of gorgeous monster-fighting scenes and a lot of open-ended potential to fit in crossovers. Plus, you can get some great crack out of it- can you imagine the PMMM girls meeting, say, the Winchesters?

Kid Icarus: Uprising- the small fandom nomination of my heart. KI:U is the best, most irreverent game about angels ever. You could cross it over with pretty much anything very easily (there's canon interstellar/interdimensional travel) and it's just fun. If you support me on this, I will love you forever.

Baccano!: The other small fandom of my heart. This one also has tons of crossover potential- the whole immortality thing means the characters can be pretty much anywhere and anywhen you want them to be. Plus the canon is just so ridiculously awesome, and already has a few (but not nearly enough!) fantastic crossovers for it.

Homestuck- it's... it's Homestuck you can't not go for this one when you're talking about canons that cross over well.

(I'd also be willing to swap some of these out for Dangan Ronpa, 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors, or Ace Attorney if someone else would be interested in any of those.)

I don't personally know it (my DC knowledge is limited to Superman, mostly). Maybe someone else will?

Ironically, outside of Ame-Comi Girls my DC knowledge is limited to Supergirl and Power Girl.

I've been thinking of doing Madoka Magica as well. So that would be at least two votes.

I'd also throw in Brooklyn 99 and Mindy Project.

Cool. I'm less enthusiastic about TBBT these days since I've already crossed everything over with it, but 2 Broke Girls has so much potential.

I'd like to nominate superhero fandoms too, both Marvel and DC, both big and small:

Justice League & Justice League Unlimited (or DC Animated Universe)
DC Universe Animated Original Movies (Different universe from DCAU)
DCU (Comics)

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Marvel Comicverses (616, Ults, Noir, etc.)
Marvel Cinematic Universe (The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man)
