Final Fantasy VII is part of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Compilation of Final Fantasy VII includes a lot more backstory, expands on the events of Final Fantasy VII and includes events that happened before and after it.

I'd be okay with throwing votes behind Dissidia, but I don't know how other fans would feel.
